Some Reading for Independents

PAPOW!

I happen to hate politics. I normally have no interest, and I don’t belong. I am a registered Independent and anyone that knows me, knows that I value transparency and authenticity more than any political party.

I call a spade a spade. I voted for Ross Perot for President in 1992. Since then, I’ve voted for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike. I never consider a party line, but rather the candidate and the issues. Rarely, are my personal views in line with a political party.

I live in a small village of less than 700. Recently, our local politics have been ambushed by a professional political strategist who moved into town and came out of retirement. He petitioned a new Independent political party to run candidates that he recruited for local office and with his experience and lack of competition, has easily won campaigns placing four PAPOW candidates into office.

For an Independent, like me, the trickery and deception is not appreciated. I came to the Independent party to escape such nonsense. Expressing one’s thoughts in public requires vulnerability, but it is unequivocally a fundamental part of leadership, and thus, this site.
